    Poppy Pod

          1

This is top down on a poppy seed pod - at least I think it's a poppy -

that's the only thing that was around...anyway, I loved the pattern on

top. What do you think? Brian

Any suggestions on a different crop - there was room on both sides

(same colors) - I wasn't sure how much of the stem to crop off, but I

think this works pretty well. Anyway, comments? Thanks, Brian

    B&W Daisy

Hey, what do you think of this one? I had a series of these in color,

but none really "stood out" - but this one in B&W I think is interesting.

    Thanks, Brian

    Daisy

This is an interior shot of a daisy in a patch by the side of the road

    - this is one of the few that wasn't covered with dirt and

exhaust...too bad. Anyway, I softened the petals using a blurred

layer (simulating double exposure) and masked out some of the center

to leave more detail there. What do you think? Thanks, Brian

This poppy had some really unique petals - both color and texture.

This is one of two (the other is linked to below). Any comments?

    Thanks, Brian

This is actually a red poppy but the camera did some funky stuff with

the color, but it turned out well I think. I blurred the background a

bit to smooth out the transitions and masked out some of the blurring

around the stamen...anyway, any comments or suggestions? Thanks in

    advance!! Brian

    B&W Lilly

Another black and white lilly image. This is cropped from a larger

version that had some distracting elements. Anyway, comments? Thanks

    again!

This is a black and white version of another image in my Flowers

folder. I personally prefer this one - the flowers were white to

begin with so this emphasizes the form better. Plus I like the way

the edges of the leaves are visible in the foreground. Any comments

you have are appreciated!! Thanks, Brian

    Backlit poppy

The sun was shining sideways (relative to the image) but it created a

great glowing look to the flower. Anyway, thanks for any comments! Brian

This is taken straight down in to a poppy flower that was nearly

closed except for the small hole at the top that looks down in to the

center. Anyway, let me know what you think about this image! Thanks,

    Brian

This is a crop of a backlight poppy flower - I cropped it down to make

it more simple and to cut out the detracting elements. What do you

think? Thanks in advance for the comments!

  1. I'd like to ask that people that leave below average ratings to describe what it is they didn't like or was missing from the image. In this particular image, did you not like the depth of field? the color? what? It's not really helpful to see 3/3 (or 1/1) without some additional information. I know this statement has been made before, but I thought it was worth mentioning again.
  2. This is a macro of a strawberry flower (I have no idea if that is the

correct name - but a flower on a strawberry plant) from a local

p-patch. Your comments are appreciated! Thanks!!!
