nice capture and great composition....I wonder if this isnt the sow and cubs that we saw chase away 2 wolves right as we arrived on the scene.
my first time there...outside of Glacier Bay NP, have never felt in a so intact complete ecosystem.
very nice array of photos...they are each striking, but you have great diversity.

this big bruin apparently was calling what was left of a wolf killed
caribou his meal. Several hours before this photo was captured, we
came upon a sow and 2 cubs who were just then chasing 2 wolves off
of the remains of the caribou.....apparently the bigger bruin chased
of momma and cubs.

one of the larger Kodiak Browns we saw within Kodiak National
Wildlife Refuge

after several days of rain, the clouds broke on our last evening at
a cabin on Fraser Lake in Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge.

annually drawing 10-30 Kodiak brown bears daily.

8 years in Alaska and I still havent made it to Denali...but there is alot to see up here and in the Yukon/NWT.
great photo made even better with the person perspective. This is the type of photo I wish I came back from my trips more often with.
whats your next big (weekend or more) hike/photo trip?

Donna, this is a very nice photo. very pleasing in its simplicity. you do need to resize your photos though...nobody can see the entire photo without having to scroll over. Try changing the image size to 800X600.
