aepelbacher 0 Posted March 1, 2004 Which works better, color or href="http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=2175279">BW (in the same folder)? Any comments or ratings are appreciated. Link to comment
davidweaverphoto 3 Posted March 1, 2004 Pretty Grizzly :-) Must be an interesting place to take pictures. The pipeline really gives you a lot of additional editorial subject matter. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted March 1, 2004 Editorial subject matter, huh? Are we really going to start the conversation on the environmental impact of the pipeline? Does Dave K have any comments on this issue? Link to comment
elaine_roberts1 0 Posted March 1, 2004 Interesting combination of the pipeline and the bear, could be a commentary on arctic oil development - for either side of the arguement. Technically, it seems rather unsharp and grainy - is that from the scanning? I think an unsharp mask would help it a lot. Link to comment
ajpn 0 Posted March 1, 2004 I'm going to go with the color version in this case. It seems a little flat b&w. Next time though, could you move in a little closer? ~! Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted March 2, 2004 OK I see it. "....Lou Ann", they cried ,"come back NOW or it will EAT you!". The fearless young photographer leaped nimbly ever closer to the great beast. "Lou Ann!", came a faint cry, "Please come back. We've collected enough for that 2X teleconverter you were talking about earlier!" Lou Ann smiled a secret smile and turned back towards the distant vehicle....:-) (I like the way you've used the pipeline as part of the composition) Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted March 2, 2004 Yup, just call me the bear-charmer. I made sure that I drew him toward the pipeline for compositional purposes, because I knew that all of you PNners would just LOVE that about this shot!! :-D Link to comment
charodiez 0 Posted March 2, 2004 Lou, it works far better in color (with the contrast green/blue). In the BW version, there is hardly any contrast between the grass field and the bear. It looks a little blurried, maybe because you took the shot at 300mm? Link to comment
