Dick, you must have been thrilled when you saw this little bird poised in your viewfinder. Excellent detail. These shots are the ones that make your efforts pay off, as I am sure it took some time to get there to that wilderness place. Thanks for sharing with us. Beautiful

Dick, Another fine photo. Very nice depth of field, composition, you captured the bird and the rock as two distinct elements perfectly even though their texture is so similar. Interesting how the color works so well even though there is so little other than mostly grays. I'd hang that one on the wall!

Thank you.

Love this picture, tone, contrast. Maybe might crop off the bottom and make it a horizontal photo. Nice job.

Thats a classic shot! Love the composition and the subject, puts me back in time 5,000 years.

You are the man. To capture that photo, AND to have hiked up there! Beautiful photo, wished I was there!

thank you for your kind comments asking if the seal is real, was he really there?
yes he was very real, amazingly, there were approximately twelve other bystanders there, some with cameras as well, and the seal played a good sport for close to two hours. The salute is nothing more than the seal scratching his head, which he did about every two minutes. After the appointed time, the seal, (a baby), rode back out to sea on the appropriate wave. An opportunity i do not anticipate will ever happen to me again. i had gone to halibut point to photograph wild lilies and blueberries.
