Love this photo Marina. As mentioned above, great light and a beautiful and natural expression. I do, however, prefer the slightly tighter crop.

Great folder. This looks like Rajasthan. Right??

This is one of those photos that I was so excited to see when I

got home, but I knew, after taking it, that there would be a

depth-of-field problem considering the focal length. Does it

bother anyone that the closest and farthest girls are slightly out

of focus? I'm trying to decide whether or not to include this one in

    my portfolio...

    Thanks, Steve

  1. I think centering the girl would have produced a far more pleasing photo by eliminating the rather uninteresting and washed out sky. Doesn't look very sharp either; perhaps just a bad scan...?
  2. ...but I chose the darkest of a series of 3 bracketed photos becuse I like the "isolated" feeling I got. The fact that they are on a boat (on anywhere else, for that matter), didn't seem as important to me afterall. Thanks for commenting.

...it's beautiful; teetering on a 7. Nice composition, too! I'm not a big fan of overmanipulation and I'm not sure to what extent this image has been altered, but if the above scan (in the comments) is the original, I'd say there was a big change. Nevertheless, the shot is very easy on the eyes. Nice work.
  3. Not sure what you mean "captured"? The photo seems to lack a definitive subject; composition is ordinary and lighting flat. Not trying to be a jerk, but I think this particular folder lacks.
