  1. Compositionally, not one of your better bug shots due to harsh lighting and an overexposed backdrop, but the facial appearance is extraordinary! Looks like something straight out of a grade b horror movie or someone's alcoholic nightmare!
  2. Got an extra 1955 cap? Buddy would look great with one. When the last out was made (I was 7), we ran into the streets shooting off fireworks, shot guns, banging pots and pans, and hanging dummies of the Yankees (with No. 8 on them) from the street lights.

Great compostion. Master Zippy looks like he's scowering the trees for birds. Would recommend some lightening on Zippy -- try the dodge tool set at 13% in highlights mode and bring up the lighter colors. Saves me every time with moderately underexposed images.

BTW, thank you very much for spending so much time reviewing photos of master Buddy.

The composition is excellent and very emotive. I wouldn't change a thing. The image itself is a bit on the overexposed / washed out looking side, at least on my monitor. If you work in Photoshop, increasing the mid-tones and perhaps adding some additional black to the color black would really enhance.
  3. OK, so it's not a picture of Jackie Robinson or Duke Snyder. Buddy is

a bit too young to remember the Brooklyn Dodgers, but his loyal

servant recalls them very well. The photo in the background is an

aerial shot of Ebbets Field on the last day the Dodgers played there

in 1957. A dark day indeed for all of Brooklyn. May Walter O'Malley

    rot in hell.

  4. I like the composition and pose -- you can almost hear the roar. The exposure is good, but there is a loss of all detail in the eyes, at least on my monitor. Teeth also look too orange -- I presume they were yellowish white. A little more room on the left and bottom might also enhance.

    Junkyard Cat

Well-fed and friendly junkyard cat approaches the funny looking human

with the strange black box in his hand. The off angled composition

was on purpose. Love the whiskers! This upload is dedicated to the

good old Kodak Tri-x 400 days of regular film photography. This

particular long forgotten negative was filed away for 25 years until

    today.

A truly beautiful kitty cat. The pose and frame are excellent, and the background complimentary. The main problem is the blown out (overexposed) whites on the chest, probably from direct sun exposure. A slight adjustment to either block the direct sun or move the cat would have made this a superior cat portrait.
  5. The ball flys off Reggie's bat (center right) on the way to the right

field bleachers for his last regular season Yankee homer. I don't

mean to brag, but this was both an amazing and lucky shot, taken from

the upper deck far away in right field with a 400mm hand held --- but

braced -- lens. Tri-x 400 film was used and pushed 2x. I believe the

shutter speed was 1/500th of a second. Don't remember the F Stop.

This is a much improved version employing a much better scanner.

I believe I may have uploaded a version once before that I

subsequently removed. To catch this I snapped a shot with every pitch

to him all night. I never dreamed it would come out this good or that

I would catch the ball leaving the bat.

  6. Fabulous catch. Definitely first prize material in a photo contest. A bit of sharpening in a few spots would enhance, but the essentials appear to be adequately in focus. The cat is a dead ringer for my Buddy.

Wonderfully composed. Your decision to frame with a titled horizon really enhances the composition and makes this a well-above average -- and very emotive -- photo. Well done!
  7. A much photographed shot, this one is special in that the number of

window lights visible is well above what one normally sees. Why? This

is early Friday evening when many of the offices are being cleaned

out and thus have their lights on! The moon was added for effect --

from this angle the moon rises too far to the right to make it into

the same frame. (Tripod, wide angle, 4 second exposure, 15 - 20

    minutes after sunset.)

  8. Nice dog, cute kid. Moving to your left so that the two were more in front of you,and not cropping out the dog's rear, would have really enhanced this shot. I also see there was strong backlighting, which may have negtively influenced your angle.
