    I agree that the horizon could be a little higher, but certainly not to the one-third line. Then it would look like a hundred other pictures, and I think you present a much more interesting and evocative vision. Down with slavish adherence to the one-third rule.

    To me, the slight darkness of the original creates a softer, more "friendly" image. I like the feeling of the original (particularly the skin tone), not the adjusted version.
