David and Bill, thanks for your suggestions about the edge. Meantime I have added a thin frame. Hope it looks better this way.

Great photo, the use of DOF goes well with the shades of brown.

Thanks to all for your comments. Yes in fact I was thinking of shorter exposure time too and made a 3 seconds version which I have uploaded next to the 6 seconds version http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=402590
However, I had two things in mind when opting for the 6 seconds. First, the water looks calmer and more mysterious and secondly I thought that the range of tones of the rock should come out in the photo. Since those photos had been taken after sunset when the sky lost its color, the longer exposure comes closer to reality. I guess, 4 seconds would have been just fine...

it is almost dark already, but the clouds in the sky are not yet
calling it a day, having a surprise in store by projecting a short
replay of the sunset onto the surface of the sea. - F22, exposure
time 6 seconds, no polarizer.

Wonderful work Giannis ! Including photographic and graphic elements. - I don't understand why some people react so alergic and punish fellow members who upload artwork which is not 100% photographic artwork, especially if it is not a product of the darkroom from which all "Cleverness or Originality" is supposed to originate.
Why not be more tolerant and just skip over too "artistic" submissions.

I like the composition and timelessness of this photograph. It could have been taken today. Why not upload some more, Helge ?

By the way, I used the little ferry from this image in more rough waters in my photo-montage called "Challenge".

Patrick , this is a very nice photograph, but the sky is terrible. I would just crop it away. The houses in different colors and shades and the sea make it outstanding.
-
a great photograph and very inspiring too.

This is a great photograph. The composition reminds me of those old prints of historical cities. IR photo is something new, totally new to me, just a new way of seeing things. In this photo you combined old and new successfully.

Tim, thanks for your critique on the crop. Well, I had to make a decision about that. I cropped at hand and feet for some reasons. For this photo it was my aim to use the green color as much as possible. In the left hand there was a bulky pink plastic back and the sandals were purple in color. So I decided to crop.
But all the comments I received and interest I perceive on this photo encourages me to post another one of the same series. I'll be more considerate with cropping ...

a mood of harmony and peace. Beautiful photograph.

Seven, thanks for your kind comments. Now I have sacrificed the totally square format and added some more space on top and below. Now the hat is complete and more of the hands is visible.
The grain I guess comes from the Fuji Superia 400 in combination with the polarizer lens and very bright light. I checked some other photos of the same roll. There is a similar effect.

Lorraine, your drawing is very well capturing the character of a wolf. I like it. Many people expect that images must be drawn with light ... you have achieved the same with color pencils ;)
-
the frame is well choosen. Also the reflection of the sky make this photograph interesting. Very well balanced.

Wim, I haven't gone through all your folders yet. In this folder, this photo is my favourite. Very well done.
-
The human-like way of looking makes this a very special shot. Very interesting photo.
-
Great photo. I think it could still be improved by removing empty space left or right.
-
Great Photo. Brings nature very close to the viewer.

Philip, yes you are right. Today I went there again with my tripod, trying for an improved version. Inspite of showing my appreciation for the place, the lady apparently was not too happy, perhaps she didn't like what she had seen on photo.net....

only a puff of steam is telling you that the boat is about to leave,
because the sound of the forest is louder than the engine. -- Photo
taken during sunset in remaining daylight with the help of a tripod
and some luck. Considering use of tele and long exposure time, there
was not enough movement to blur the picture. Subsequent photos didn't
show the same mood - the warm light had gone already.

Great Photo, Miro !

Hi J.W., no doubt, this is a wonderful dog. But the photo is kind of unexciting. May I suggest that you crop everything except the dog's head and chest. This would leave you with a great portrait ....

Seven, I think, while taking a photograph, interaction happens on many levels, which may influence the final picture by embedding a kind of message in it. Here your compassion for the creature has been rewarded with a photo so powerful and beautiful as this one.

This is a great shot Michael. I have seen the place myself, however did not manage to get such a good view and image as you did.
If you consider cropping, I think it could even better.
