does this picture make you dizzy?
-
Victor:
It was taken in the Caribbean (St. Martin - a French Colony in the south-easter Caribbean)
I was told that they are natives of SE Asia, but that they had been imported there - the picture was taken at a butterfly farm
I believe that this is specifically the Idea leuconoe chersonesia (Mangrove Tree Nymph) which is sometimes found in Singapore / Malaysia. I am told it is relatively rare, especially in Singapore.

What do you think?

Reminds me of the Greek god Pan with one of his nymphs.
Fantastic.

Looking for reactions on composition, technique. Thanks in advance.
Technical: no post-processing - this is directly from a drum-scan of
the original slide. Very slight lens-tilt & Swing to manipulate the
plane of focus. The colors are quite natural. However, I used about
10 polaroids before getting everything (light, focus, DOF) like you
see it. Any suggestions to make this process more reliable (read
cheaper) are welcome.
I had this printed in 40x50 on Fuji Crystal and in that size hanging
on the wall, it does excite some comment.

Noce colors and selective focus

Circle the wagons!

Amazingly beautiful view. Is the blue from copper sulfite?

Very nice composition!

good caption - the picture really caught my eye.

This was a fleeting moment - the light lasted for about 30 seconds,
and this is the best of the shots. What do you think of the crop, etc?
Comments are welcome.

Scene around Times-Square, NYC late afternoon.

If this is your first try at night photography, then I am pretty impressed. The composition and the colors work for me. The blurred leaves add rather than subtract from the picture - maybe giving it a slightly surreal tint.

I like it - composition, lighting, timing.

I like it. I'd call it "Schroedinger's Apple" - overlap of two distinct quantum states ...
I'm also wondering how to make the two apples overlap 100% ... register pins maybe ?
