Took this picture in the middle of a dark night on Slik tripod with 8 secs. exposure time. Location was only lit by distant street lantern. Rather windy at time of exposure (notice leaves).Used the Linux Gimp for auto-leveling.

If this is your first try at night photography, then I am pretty impressed. The composition and the colors work for me. The blurred leaves add rather than subtract from the picture - maybe giving it a slightly surreal tint.
