  1. As I opened with.....the aesthetic appeal was my motive, BUT I cannot understand the aesthetic, thus the query; maybe there are visual principles in play that I am not familiar with, and somebody else might understand them. ... or maybe (likely?) .... NOT.
  2. What are member opinions on reposting of images in threads? I am guilty (I think) of this in that I can't remember all the images I have posted in the past to image threads, so some are probably reposts. Is this a sin of/or bad ettiquette? Does anyone notice, or care?
  3. yeah,..."WHY" is why I made the critique request.
  4. I am a hobby photographer and love my Sigma 135A (on Nikon D810) for its sharpness, subject isolation, and light gathering. the focal length is nice for headshots. In general, I somewhat sneer at sharpness criteria as not being integral to photo quality, but then when I open images from mine, ...OMG.
  5. The title did throw me off, or distracted me to provoke my reply. Having your comment in mind, I struggle to find what the photo is about. Others' comments I find rather far-fetched speculation, which is OK, I guess, if that's your thing. The framed area is the least interesting part of the image, the shapes bear no relation to one another, and the textures are random with no sensuality. But if I don't get it, maybe it's just me.
  6. I'm confused. The steps themselves are relatively lost among the other shapes and textures. Or is that the point?
