Excellent exposure. Great contrast and smooth skin tones... how did you manage this? The contrast rivals that of a large format... Please advise how you brought this wonderful capture to life.

    Tks.

  1. Thanks for your comment. I tend not to go for the traditional wildlife shot. I prefer to have a more Batemanesque view of wildlife photography. I like to show the habitat and the animals together rather than zeroing in on just the animal.

I like to think of it as wildlife editorial.

    Cheers!

    Lizard

Myself, I would have composed the shot with the subject a little more to the upper right hand corner of the frame. As it is the tree limb and the lizard are competeing with each other for the viewers attention.

    Great exposure however.. well done.

    Cheers!

I have always wanted to go to Cambodia to see these temples, what an amazing accomplishment.

Great capture although the lighting (which you have no control over) is a little flat.

    Thanks for sharing.

A very well thought out capture (exposure). It is a shame the subject looked at you as it would have been a much better picture if she hadn't... but that is the fun of a spontaneous moment.

    Great work.

    Cheers!

  2. This is a stunning shot, with a little contrast and getting rid of the digital noise, this shot could be outstanding.

Nice shot, I have been trying to get a horned owl shot for some time... just not very many in my neck of the woods I suppose.

    Cheers!

How on earth did you get such a shot? Given the background it looks like you are using about a 300, which means it was a pretty close shot... How did you do it? Enquiring minds wanna know :D

    Nice work!

  3. It was a touching moment I was lucky enough to capture.

I must have looked very odd holding the camera at waste level following behind these two.

    Thanks again for your comment.

    Pine Branch

I snapped this photo while out hiking one day. The sun was setting and the colors just came alive.

    Thanks again for your comment.

  4. I was out one morning trying to get some shots of herons, when this

beautiful juvenile osprey came swooping toward me. He had just

tried, unsuccessfully, to snap up a fish from the water.

This shot was taken as he was flying by me to take another try.. of

    which he was successful.

A very bold statement. Good strong composition.. it is a pitty the light was low, this would have been an outstanding picture had it been tack sharp.

    Cheers!

  5. I spotted this blue heron on an early morning shoot. The point of

going out on this morning was to find some cranes or herons, but I

couldn't see any, and I was running out of the magic hour light.

All of a sudden this guy pops out of some tall grass and takes

flight. With my camera on the tripod a start shooting feverishly,

    this is the result.

I also caught an osprey shortly after this shot in the same marsh...

it is in my nature portfolio if you care to take a look.

    Cheers! And thanks for looking.
