LindaM 2 Posted August 6, 2009 hot line to the blue room? love that red rotary dial phone! Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 6, 2009 Well, I was thinking more like hotline to the Kremlin. Whatever, one's interpretation, that red phone and weird upholstery demands a photo. Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted August 6, 2009 Dave, colorful confusion and composition. Please, don't try to contact Nikita. Others are monitoring your hot line:-) Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted August 6, 2009 Just seeing the red phone and Nikita, I though about the Kremlin.... Very nice surrounding for the leadrs conference...LOL even a huge bottle, probably Vodka.... you have to add two glasses, or are they drinking straight from the bottle.... ;-)) you have really some observation. Great composition ( with a lclosed window so it will be secret) and title. You made me widely smile! Link to comment
alight 0 Posted August 6, 2009 I agree that this scene deserves a photo. Nothing seems to match anything else in there. I would clone out the little blue triangle sticking into the frame on the left. Cheers, Micheal Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 6, 2009 I think I will need a seance rather than a phone to contact him. But what fun it would be. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 6, 2009 Glad you were amused. I hadn't thought of it, I guess that bottle could be Vodka. I suspect that a fair number of youngsters here will not get the reference. Cheers Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 6, 2009 In my world nothing matches anything either, so the image is in sync with me. You are right, that little piece of cloth should have been cloned out. Laziness is my only excuse. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted August 7, 2009 Where do you find all these great scenes? I envy you :-) Link to comment
BelaMolnar 2 Posted August 9, 2009 I really amazed, how do you finding places like this. The red phone! Hello Mr. President. The colors and all those cacophony of colors, . . . very good David. Oh! As usual. Cheers; Bela Link to comment
aarkp 2 Posted August 11, 2009 Almost any other photographer and I would have assumed its a digital alteration... but you have a knack for seeing the oddest scenes... so many interesting things to be discovered here... this place has a personalized stamp to it that says the occupant cares a whit for what we or anyone thinks about his/her tastes... the occupant may be quirky but will surely be interesting... the place certainly has character... your photograph does total justice to this unique place... the blue strip peeking out of the frame is very much a part of it and i'm glad you didn't think to clone it out Link to comment
michaellinder 16,611 Posted August 16, 2009 What an eye you have! I'll echo some of the comments that colleagues already have made. It's all the disparate elements that make this shot work so well. And the sign on the wall adds a fantastic element of absurd humor, given the red phone on the table. This is an amazing tale of Americana, told by a master storyteller. Awesome work, which the system wouldn't let me rate properly. My compliments, michael Link to comment
laurentlacoste 0 Posted August 17, 2009 What a fine assemblage. You really have an eye for finding and making great compositions out of these, David. Great post-processing job. Link to comment

bosshogg 4 Posted August 24, 2009 What a wonderful surprise to find a post from you today. I'm honored and so pleased. I hope this means we shall hear more from you and see more of your great images. I hope.... Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted August 24, 2009 Yes I'm still alive and well....and you my friend? Pleasantries aside I really "dig" the blues and the furnishings feel quite appropriate for that summer beach house that we all long to visit. The decorator very much likes symetrical placements and obviously the cool colors of blue, wonderfully rustic and a well composed image to my way of thinking. The red phone adds a nice spot of color but it does feel a little ominous. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 24, 2009 I can't believe it! First Joaquim, who has been absent most of the year, and now you who has been absent for more than a year. The gods must be smiling upon me. I had given up on hearing from you. Well, I would not care if you thought it crap. I'd still be happy that I heard from you. I hope you are well and all is fine. Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted August 26, 2009 I don't think a professional set designer could've amassed a scene so screaming in personality. The colors are perfect, a palette that could have been lifted from a patchwork quilt. Link to comment
dandem 1 Posted August 26, 2009 Such an awesome blend of tones and colours, Dave...Well done, my friend. Regards, Lawrence. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted August 26, 2009 I imagine somebody lives here and that their retinas were burned out long ago. Love the waves coming out of the phone sign. How on earth would we ever know we were supposed to talk and listen with this device if we didn't have the graphic. Or maybe it's a combo phone/shower head. Link to comment
laurent_jaussi 0 Posted September 5, 2009 the red's really poping among the blue and beige/brown tones...the color mix works for me...the seats really put life into this "decaying" place...this creates a bizarre frozen mood of old & colorful where the red phone is like the cherry on the cake...
