This one has a dichotomy of color and forms. the colors are very vivid, even a bit oversaturated ( post processing? ), all the blues of the garbage cans and the reds/greens of the bus. On the other hand it looks bad in the form side, the bus looks old without wheels?... windows sealed .. looks as a past " glory ". Even the trees are looking neglected and bare. Despite the colors, the composition speaks of its title....;-))

Glad to see you active Dave, I hope you are well.

This is an old railroad car that was converted into a diner. But, as you can see, it has fallen upon hard times, as has the neighborhood.

This photograph is another excellent example of your being able to portray "Americana" in creative, novel ways. At first sight, I thought the postprocessing was a bit overdone, but then it dawned on me that this was your way of emphasizing how little people in our country try to preserve objects, places, and/or structures that are worth the effort. In this instance, the old streetcar becomes just another piece of trash to be stuffed into the trash cans.

My compliments,

michael

Thanks. It is overcooked a bit, but I thought it would show my thoughts on the whole scene. You know my mind is overcooked too. ☺ I know many do not care for such obvious manipulation, and that's understandable. Thanks for your appreciation.

David, I was looking out for Vivien Leigh & Marlon Brando. I again read the caption. Then I realised here the Director is not Elia Kazan, but David Meyer. An evocative impressionistic image.

this is a good one. The blue bins reflect the state of the streetcar, and the dense tree crowns cover that decay to give it some privacy. I also like the post-processing. It makes it look slightly cartoonish in a good way. Have you seen any unopened bottles of V8 there? Cheers, Micheal

To day, Arthur Miller would rename his playwright to those title. Punching color, good demonstration of an age, an unstoppable downhill. Bravo.

Cheers; Bela
