The Swollen River Tiber (Rome 2008)

As many of you may have heard, the heavy rains fallen on Rome during last week have created a major problem with the River Tiber. This shot was taken on Saturday morning, the day after the big peak of water level.

The sense of motion and energy are rampant in this photo. I love how the light is on a slight tilt which adds to the flow of energy.

Without the lamp in the front this shot would be imho just good. The fact it's tilted enhances the impression of fragility of the material world we construct around us when facing the power of the elements. The calm curves of the bridge and the similarity in the texture on the water and in the sky also attract my attention here. Well done Giuseppe, regards, -wm (late as usual:))

Eccezionale!E' la migliore foto della piena del Tevere che ho visto.....Guardando questa foto e le tue ultime sono rimasto seriamente impressionato..tanto che mi viene la voglia di eliminare la maggior parte delle mie ultime(quelle del tevere pero' le ho dovuto fare con la compattina!),beh ora vado e poi torno a vedere meglio le altre...Salutoni
