It is realy funny. A few day ago I made a very simular picture of flying swans.

But my picture is ordinary. Why?

It have not:

this dark birds flying from light into the darkness.

The light and dark is not divided in diagonal through an cloud perfectly from a corner to the other.

Flying this birds into the night or the night is coming to the birds?

A question you can often ask in many sitiations and there is no answer.

Very strong picture in contents, tones and composition.

Bravo.

Very nice depth in the blue. Almost looks like a wave crashing to shore viewed from above, rather than looking upward from below at a sky. The sharpness of the birds is impressive.

Joe, what makes this image for me ,is the correlation of the very dark birds and dark skyon the L, diagonaly separated by the bright clouds, and the nice blue background.Lovely image well caught.

Very interesting composition..Would you consider getting rid of the bird at the top as his wings are not the same shape as the others?

Great catch! The darkness creeping into the frame from the U L does give the impression the geese are flying literally into the night. I love how the low sun is catching the underside of the honkers and lighting them up from below.

Joseph, what a romantic title for this beautiful capture. The composition is simple and good. cheers Jana

Beautiful and balanced composition. Space is all that those migrating wild geese need, don't they? I mean, I like the space you left around the birds and the subtle blue cast. This picture breathes.
