Hi David. Damn it! I just spend a thousand dollar for a mattress, and here, I could spare 900 bucks. I could get a new lens. Next time. Very good. I liked the othere image as well, where the mattress is lean against the car. 100 bucks.

Cheers; Bela

Indeed, you could have saved a fortune. But, from what I've seen of your photography, you don't need a new lens. You're doing just fine with what you have.

Here are some interesting graphics, David. A great color version. I like the space you left on the right very much. Very effective.

Oh yes, I like this view and color was required for it in my opinion. But I still think I'd choose to sleep on the ground in my down-filled sleeping bag before I'd consider shopping here.

If you ever come across someone selling black-velvet paintings (Elvis would be nice) on the street be sure to get some good shots of them. I used to see that often in Southern California and Tijuana but not at all in Seattle. I sort of miss it...

I shall keep my eyes open for the black velvet paintings. I've gotten way too old and soft to be sleeping on the ground. As for shopping here, best know some Spanish if you wish to barter. Tengo que irme a comprar una cama ahorra. Nos vemos mas tarde.

Glad you enjoyed it. Just another one of thousands of places that are all around, and screaming for the camera's viewfinder. Take care.

The title put a smile on my face and the image follows close behind in the humour department. I love the actual mattress leaning against the drawing of mattresses.

Joe and Gordon, thanks to both of you. Gordon, it is sweet how that mattress leaning against the building so well matches the painted ones on the bunk bed. I claim none of the credit for that.

this is like a scene from a cartoon movie. There should be Pluto or Mickey standing next to the building. Cheers, Micheal

they might be funnier, but you cannot sleep on them, though you could sleep with them... Cheers, Micheal

Ok. To the untrained eye this little gem may just be over looked as poor signage on a cheep store.

Upon further inspection one can plainly see that the signage was thoroughly laid out, planed and executed with great intent, forethought and specific artistic design and motivation.

Look carefully at the criss-crossing pillow top patterns painstakingly hand painted. It holds the realism, but yet drifts into a fantasy of a well made mattress, and what fun nights this mattress will bring.

The words and letters fashioned with jagged clarity and forethought to the appealing nature of the eye, to follow each word to it's inevitable conclusion of $100 dollars. The mattress painted on the top and bottom seems to form a hand and finger pointing directly to the unbelievable price of $100 dollars. A small price to pay for a satisfying night.

Even the upturned triangle... It is a symbol of aspiration or rising up. Of male force, and fire. It is purely phallic in origin. The triangle represents aspiration, rising forcem and the male principal.

Having said all that - it is simply a great David Meyer photo. On all levels

Man, I'm thinking it's a good thing you weren't there. You might have pulled that standing mattress to the ground and attempted a test run. Oh, I just have this vision of a poor homeless woman passing by and you convincing her to join you for a test drive.... oh, oh, it's warming up. And then the police arrive and.... Whew! I just woke up. It was gettin' pretty ugly.

Thanks Shane
