Reflections on a Dining Room Wall

Very bright sunlight was hitting a thick glass dining room table which then cast reflections of the tabletop, aqua vase, bar stools onto a wall just beyond the table. Camera focused on the bar stool. No alterations - right out of the camera.

This is one of those images that gives a pleasure to view. Even without a point this is very strong image and i have to admit that i stared this already yesteray for some time. Now i got it, it has something to do with that dream feel i get from that reflection. very good job. rgs Tero.

The 4 / 4's have been overtaken! Not that this is a competition. Well, actually . . . :) Thanks so much and have a Great and Glorious Monday!

Alberta, I notice that you are drifting further and further into abstract territory as of late and it seems to suite you quite well. I like that you included the stool on the left as a reference point for the reflections. It also offers a good contrast between the clean and dark tones of the stool and the soft pastel feeling of the reflected image. I have a bad habit of always forgetting about that whole ratings thing but I'll remember this time as I do think it important to offset the dismal ratings that misinformed individuals always like to leave on anything even slightly outside of the box. Thank you Gordon, for your insightful comments and for the rating - like a gold star on the refrigerator. (Do they even do that anymore?) Cheers -

Hi Ania: Thanks for your comment. Good to see you back at photo.net . . . must mean you've "come up for air" . . . I hope that translates well :)

As has been mentioned, this has a dreamlike quality to it that is very seductive. I start with the sharp details on the left, and all of a sudden I drift off and wander as the eye goes to the right. Well seen, indeed.

Thanks for commenting. We'd been living in this house with that furniture and that vase on the table for 15 years before I really noticed this reflection. But I got it - eventually ;)

Cheers ~
