katzpjs 50 Posted April 15, 2007 A Wonderful Image! Nice and pure, just to my liking, and of course a falling down building certainly helps too. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted April 16, 2007 One of many dilapidated and abandoned structures found more and more commonly around our countryside. Link to comment
alight 0 Posted April 16, 2007 really, when you sneeze you should face away from old buidlings ;-) Very nice composition. As to the framing, even the hills in the background support this perspective, as they go down towards the shack, almost as if holding it from going horizontal. Good exposure. Cheers, Micheal Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted April 16, 2007 I'm rather pleased with this one myself. It required tramping through a bit of snow, and climbing over some fences, and I think it was worthwhile. If I ever get my printer hooked up, this is going to be one of my first to print. Link to comment
dberryhill 3 Posted April 16, 2007 Oh gee, Dave, this is gorgeous! I'm talking absolutely beautiful. Everything is right. The sharpness, the contrast, the composition. And, first and foremost, the subject. It says abandonment. The is first rate work, in any league. Link to comment

shirkwolfe 0 Posted November 26, 2007 Of all the wonderful photos in your portfolio, this one took me to a place in my past. My grandpa used to take us from Topeka, Kansas, to ghost towns in Colorado. There are more and more places in Kansas that look like this now. Beautiful, cold photo. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted November 26, 2007 Thanks. A week ago I was driving through Kansas, and I did see some places similar to this. It's more and more common throughout our country. I'm concerned. I hope foolishly. Link to comment

dennisdixson 0 Posted June 7, 2008 Very nice work on this and the others in this set. The snow adds a lot by reducing things to the bare essentials needed for a powerful composition. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2296/2199030850_a8192424b8_m.jpg Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted June 8, 2008 You are so right about the snow. Without it this would suffer greatly. Thanks for th look and for your version of decrepit. This last week I've been working on completely redoing the landscaping of my back yard. After hauling ten yards of fill dirt, and twenty yards of humus, and now needing decomposed granite for the walkways, I feel a bit like these structures. Beat up, run down, falling apart, and very old. Link to comment
