katzpjs 50 Posted April 1, 2007 On the range indeed! Thanks for posting a very large image of this; it allowed me to see the satellite dish and to smell breakfast being cooked. I like this image very much! Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted April 1, 2007 Thanks. There are lots of cool things here like the dish, the barby, the water bottle, and even a little set of figurines just back of the dish. A real scene if ever I saw one. Link to comment
Emmanuel Enyinwa 0 Posted April 1, 2007 Shawn! You can smell breakfast being cooked? Sorry, but as I get older, my long term memory gets more and more erratic. I think I can hear quarrels and the utensils from that breakfast you smell getting chucked across the room and making contact with the unfortunate head of the husband, who was not satisfied with that meal, his wife, his van, his life. Even as we speak, I can hear police sirens distantly coming into focus, like the sound of the Aston Barret's base from Bob Marley's "Natural Mystic". "Many more will have to suffer Many more will have to die Don't ask me why. Things are not the way they used to be. I won't tell no lie. One and all will have to face reality now. No one tries to find the answers To all the questions they ask No one knows it's impossible To go living through the past I won't tell no lie. There's a natural mystic blowing through the air..." katzpjs 50 Posted April 1, 2007 David, I had missed the figurines because they are so small, but I'll bet a close shot of them, the dish and the front corner of the trailer would make a great photograph (assuming the photographer does not get shot first).Emmanuel, I was not going to mention the Bob Marley tune because I didn't want to tell about the other sweet, smoky smells that are in the air. But yes, the imagination runs wild with this fine image... Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted April 2, 2007 Shawn can't help it. He's just a romantic sort. I know you were being tongue in cheek, Shawn, so don't get mad for the comment. Thanks for the view and the excellent commentary. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted April 2, 2007 Perfectly bleak. This could be a stage set out of The Misfits. Link to comment
paprika 0 Posted April 2, 2007 The larger image makes a different, I like your work David ! Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted April 2, 2007 Bleak it is. That's probably the best word that could be used for this one. Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted April 2, 2007 Love the pastel colors, probably could rent this place pretty reasonable for my next "camp", everything's there....refrig, stove (sorta), yard ornaments, air conditioning, and wide open spaces. Hotel Pinko! Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted April 2, 2007 Welcome back girl. I've been posting Montana/Idaho pics damn near eevry day, and you're not around to see what I found in your state. Big disappointment. Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted April 3, 2007 "Cowboy up" David, I'm back and cruisin' through everyone's portfolios and I just love what all you fella's have been posting from my neck of the woods. I've always been a big fan of your "slum-shots" and I appreciate your take on the Montana back streets, board walks, and out West lifestyles. Link to comment
john falkenstine 1 Posted April 3, 2007 probably, once upon a time, it wasn't bleak. Knowing these trailer type units, the vast majority of them have better plumbing, better heat than the average upscale european house of the sixties. I've been out in the nasty boonies in one of these, nice and warm, munching on food. It was great. often folks live in them to the point of no return. Then they depart, leaving their stuff behind. kentb2 0 Posted April 3, 2007 Let us not forget to mention the wonderful effect that color is playing here. Fantastic, subtle and at the perfect volume. Link to comment
laurent_jaussi 0 Posted April 3, 2007 What I like most are the colors faded by time..with a smooth light (practically no shadow) it goes so well aesthetically with the snow and sky...then the story behind and the things leftover...a very nice image David... Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted April 3, 2007 Thanks for the comments. This is one of my favorites from the Montana trip. I'm sorry to say, I think it reflects our future American landscape. Link to comment
LindaM 2 Posted April 3, 2007 looks like i'm late for breakfast, but maybe there's a cold one in the fridge. now, is that van the "mother-in-law cottage"? this one should be in a museum! Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted April 3, 2007 That van could be mother-in-law, or doghouse when hubby forgets the anniversary. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted April 30, 2007 Thanks a lot. Maybe it should have been called, "Home on the Range In Pastel." Link to comment
