I photographed this Glossy ibis (Plegadis falcinellus), with its iridescent plumage, in the lagoons of Cagliari with Nikon D 500, Sigma 150-600mm sport, f / 6.3, 1/1250 sec, ISO 250. Thanks for your comments

I've not seen this variety of ibis before, Giangiorgio. The ones that are plentiful in southeast Florida have entire white feathers and orange legs, but with the same orange beak. You captured this bird's feathers with excellent detail, both sharply and with vivid colors. With its wings spread wide, I suspect it was getting ready to fly. And, finally, the BG is spot on for this photo. - - My best always, michael - - Ciao!

Hi Giangiorgio,

a very pleasing shot of this ibis ready to take off into the sky. I like how you captured the beautiful shiny feathers of this bird against the OoF background of the lagoons and of course the strong composition. I would consider cloning out the twigs around the bird's beak and throat, but that's a minor issue (due to my excessive attention to detail). Kind regards, Vincent

Grazie mille Vincent for your appreciation and great commentary of my photo, I will follow your wise advice to clone those twigs around the beak of the ibis, ciao Giangiorgio
