bernath 2 Posted May 21, 2020 Nice catch that seems to me a European weather loach (Misgurnus fossilis), ciao Sandor Link to comment
Giangiorgio Crisponi 461 Posted May 21, 2020 Thanks Sandor for your welcome comment, I had no knowledge of this variety suggested by you, but in the lagoons of Cagliari the European eel is very common, ciao Giangiorgio Link to comment
michaellinder 16,611 Posted May 21, 2020 Although this heron's classification includes the word "gray," the image shows a rather pleasing combination of grays and browns. As is customary in many of your bird shots, Giangiorgio, the reflections here augment the bird well. Indeed the foreground area of water is mesmerizing both in color and in pattern. As to the heron's potential meal, I wonder to what degree the bird may be frustrated with its catch winding itself around the beak as if it were a constrictor. Finally, the way the image captures the feathers patterns is quite sharp. - - My best always - - Ciao! Link to comment
