bernath 2 Posted May 8, 2020 Nice photo of this Egyptian vulture shot in Spain. The Italian population of this bird decreased drastically over the last 50 years. In the 1970s, around 70 pairs were estimated to live in Maremma, Campania, Apulia, Basilicata, Calabria and Sicily. In 2013-2014, only 8-9 pairs were recorded in southern Italy (Basilicata, Apulia, Calabria and Sicily), ciao Sandor Link to comment
Giangiorgio Crisponi 465 Posted May 8, 2020 Grazie mille Sandor for your nice comment and for the interesting note on the current conditions of this rare vulture. I add that last year in Alghero the first Egyptian vulture was born from a free couple in the Natural park and was called "Primo". ciao Giangiorgio Link to comment

vincentoiseau 83 Posted May 9, 2020 Hi Giangiorgio, beautifully simple and well shot, this photo of an Egyptian vulture. Here, the 150-600 mm was an obvious choice and a good one, judging from the result! Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment

Timo Hartikainen 556 Posted May 10, 2020 The composition is very good; there is more empty space ahead of the bird, an old basic rule of photographing moving objects and it still works. Link to comment
