A row of fuchsia flowers that reminded me of a movie. Shot on a tripod with a Canon EF 100 mm 2.8 lens.

An evening photo of fuchsia flowers that made me think of the lanterns in the Chinese movie 'raise the red lantern' (1991) byYimou Zhang. I liked the intense color. I chose a relatively narrow DoF to keep the background blurry. Your comments are very welcome.

Hi Tatiana,

thanks for your enthusiasm and praise of this photo! It was the light that made the flowers come to life. The diagonal approach seemed the best option. Kind regards, Vincent

Vincent, at first I just allowed myself to revel in the greens and reds, but seeking the next chapter in the novel, I found myself staring at the red shapes and wondering whether the photograph was taken on another world. Then, your narrative brought me back to earth. Admittedly, I've not seen fuchsia before. The bottom line is that nature has its own special brand of magic, as this image so wonderfully proves. - - My best always, michael

Excellent presentation by showing the evolution of growth and length, Vincent. Hot colored flowers really look great against the cool background. Looks like there is plenty of pollen to attract insects. The composition encompasses the growth pattern of the flowers and the colors are rich and deep. Beautiful capture of these gorgeous flowers. Best regards, Paul.

Hi Paul,

thanks for your friendly comments! To be honest, the evolution of growth and length wasn't on my mind at all when I shot this photo. It's only now that GG and you have pointed it out to me as a theme that I see what you both mean. I saw the compositional merit of the diagonal line, and the colors of course. Kind regards, Vincent
