Giangiorgio Crisponi 477 Posted October 9, 2018 This African monarch butterfly resting with its wings closed was photographed at dawn still covered with dew on a branch of Asclepias fruticosa . Some group of African monarch butterflies may migrate from Africa to Sardinia. Now a subspecies Danaus chrysippus lives in Sardinia. Their bright coloration serves as a warning to predators that they are toxic. Nikon D300s, Sigma macro 105mm, f/10, 1/125 sec , flash, ISO 200. Thanks for your comments Link to comment
