What a great , natural water break and shore protection. We wonder whether you have already noticed anything from sea level rise. As flat as this area looks, one would think it wouldn't take much. Nice shot.

Greg &Verena...Wrote a reply and just now realized it evaporated.Yes,the rise is noticeable but there is a lot more to this global warming. This is the time of the year when the highest tides occur and more often than not, these are accompanied by high winds for the perfect storm.A few years back, the ice sheet was in full progress and when the storms happened, the iced-up shores were well protected;nowadays,no ice sheet and we just had our high tides but fortunately, these came on rare windless days,so we are good for another year.Higher waters also equate to more agressive erosion and the northern faces of these islands have suffered greatly,a lot in the last ten years to the point that seaside houses are threatened and even our landmark lighthouse. As you note...it wouldn't take much!Salutations-Laurent
