Flamingos landing at dawn (Phoenicopterus ruber)

I present here two images of flamingos in landing, made in sequence at the dawn from the top of an hill overlooking the lagoon of Cagliari at about 1 km distance. Which of the two do you prefer? Thanks for your comments

Giangiorgio- this one seems a little better composed, with more space in front of the birds for them to "run into". THe gold is amazing as well as the distance this was taken from. Fascinating photos.

Giangiorgio,

Both marvelous shots. I like the lighting and color very much. Hard to make a call as to which I like best. As Gregory and Verena said in this photo the birds look like they are coming into the picture while in the other one they look like they are leaving. So, are they landing or taking off? Really makes no difference to the casual viewer. If I have to pick I think I'd pick this one. (nothing like over analyzing to breed confusion, right!)
