This colonial revival style home (built 1913-1915) in the Inglewood

area of Nashville was purchased by the state of TN in 1941 for use as

a tuberculosis hospital. I understand the reluctance to demolish an

historic structure and fiscal restraints on preservation, but allowing

a building like this to just decay serves no one except a photographer

with an active imagination. Comments and critique appreciated.

Wayne,

Beautiful creative image, that I hope they will renovate.  I am sure if those walls could talk the stories they could tell.  I love your processing.  Take care, Patsy

I love the way you've juxtaposed the "bronchioli" of the tree against the tuberculosis hospital--knowing the back-story makes this rich in meaning. I also like the impressionistic manipulation of the image--it carries it into the unworldly in a satisfying way. If I were to suggest one change it might be to apply a perspective correction to make the left side of the building vertical; with that change, I think the building would seem to be at less of a tilt. A very nice image!

It's good to get an idea of the surround environment of this classic building! The grounds in which stands gives a very regal impression that goes with the architecture of the structure.

Very well done Wayne!

Leslie,

Many thanks.  I confess I am not so accomplished with PS perspective warp so I look for any excuse to not correct parallax.  My excuse here - I thought a deteriorating building should have some lean to it.
