Burleigh Falls is part of the Kawartha Highlands. A large expansive

area that has literally hundreds of Lakes and Streams. It is where

many love to spend their free time at Family Cottages if they are so

fortunate to afford one. This is another view that is to the East of the

Island I posted about a week ago. I think this was one of the most

beautiful days I have ever had to capture some Fall Colors.

Nice nature composition. Very well done. I accessed the homepage of the Kawartha Highlands on the Internet. From what I read on the homepage the Kawartha Highlands Park is a park that must be maintained by private initiative – Ontario Parks. In Brazil, the Iguaçu National Park is maintained by private initiative – Cataratas do Iguaçu S.A. – through public concession (http://www.cataratasdoiguacu.com.br). In my opinion, the private sector has more operational flexibility to manage ecological parks than the Government. Maintenance is better. The visitor has more safety and more comfort. I am an enthusiast for ecological parks for which allow stunning pictures like this that you are presenting for rate. Unfortunately, there is no public government policy that encourages private companies to exploit the economic potential of ecological parks in Brazil. Most of them are abandoned. The visitor does not have safety and comfort. On Rio de Janeiro, for example, visit the National Park of the Tijuca Forest, where is Christ the Redeemer – Corcovado, which is maintained by the Government, is a terrifying adventure. The visitor is constantly threatened by bandits or victim of a stray bullet fired in a gang fight. Other ecological parks are inaccessible. It's a shame! Best regards. Roldao

The stark rock against the water and fall colors make for a great contrast.

Blue skies, sunshine and water, days for fun and good memories!

Best Regards

Beautiful shot of an equally beautiful setting! There's nothing that compares to shooting outdoor landscapes in autumn in the northern  latitudes!! Bravo!

This is certainly a beautiful scene with fine Fall color but I like your composition as well.  Excellent landscape... Mike

The rocks are outstanding with color and detail. It's your composition and the beautiful colors of the background trees that completes the deal. What a scenic place Gail. TFS.

Best Always, Holger

Hello Gail, although I have been to Canada, I have never visited this region, it must certainly be unforgettable to be in touch with nature enjoying the colors of autumn.

As Roldao says, in Latin America, the State, or Government is a poor administrator, not very efficient, but I have visited many National Parks in the United States, and there the government officials perform an excellent job. (As far as I can see).

Kind Regards,

Rosario.

Amazing foreground bringing strength to the image, the colorful trees bring the image to a fabulous beauty! For the first time in my life I visited North Carolina in October and Georgia in November and saw the beauty of fall. Savannah Georgia is a beauty and I fell in love with The city Of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.

Thank you for sharing such a wonderful image.

Hello Gail: I hope you are well. Quite a shift from your style! Beautiful place, and an equally beautiful conveyance of the crystal clear air, clear sky and the strength of the rock in the foreground, almost rendering a 3D sensation. Lovely as always. Best regards.

Here our in Ontario,  Parks Canada takes care of most of our Parks.  They seem to do a good job and are very fussy about how campers use, access and make sure the Parks are not damaged in any way.  We are very fortunate. Government money is set aside where required to take care of the parks. In order to camp at any of them - you usually have to make 'reservations' - the Camp Sites are in such demand.  Burleigh Falls is part of a very large area called the Kawartha Highlands.  There is a Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park that is very large. There are some Private Parks within the Kawartha Highlands. I think it is a shame that ecological parks in your country are not so well taken care of.  There is such beauty there. There is a lot of Tourism in the Provincial Parks and it is a very important source of income for Ontario - much of the money goes to help take care of the Parks. I am so happy to hear you enjoyed this image! (I should have been more specific when I called this image 'Kawartha Highlands Colors'. I did see a site that I think you may have been on and it is an area taken care what seems to be Private Citizens - people with the best interest of the Forest and Lake at heart)

So pleased to see you visited this image :) Always to hear what you have to say. I appreciate your opinion very much. Yes, this is different - but I hope to do more Landscape and I may mix a bit of the Artistic into my compositions in the future, thanks so much Daniel.

This place is about 25 minutes from where I live.  It is beautiful and the Parks that are within a few hours drive all are well taken care of by Parks Canada.  It is wonderful to see how well the Parks are taken care of - really strict rules and if anyone dares exhibit any destructive behaviour - they are soon caught. Thank you Rosario for those kind words and info!
