I suppose it's all been done before, but what with the sight of the

autumn leaves and the recent rain adding more flow to the falls than

is usual at this location....well who could resist! Your thoughts and

comments are always appreciated! Thank You.

Well Alf, I would say the silky smooth flowing waters surrounded by the beautiful warm colored leaves, leaves nothing to be desired in a landscape shot except perfect composition, oh wait a minute you've got that covered as well. Oh well just another perfect image;-)

Best Always, Holger

Oh boy, you're singing my song. A scene to study and enjoy. Thanks to you we can enjoy it along with you. The lighting is heavenly, the composition perfect and the water motion adds life. Altogether perfect (even though it has no ducks).. Mike

Hello Alf! This water curtain is just perfect! As always a beautiful composition, with special care to all details. I can be looking at this image for a long time and I always find interesting things!

Flawless, a usual that is, with a perfect depiction of a serene scenery. I was wondering if the purplish cast of the waterfall is from the surrounding leaves?
keep on shooting!

A wonderfully serene, rustic, photograph that gives our eyes the restful time they can appreciate during the tranquil, seasonal transition from the rich, vibrant, colours of summer through to the dazzling sparkles of seemingly pure white, bright, glistening snow and ice which beckon us in winter.  The blends of fabulous autumnal colours even work their way across the falls of water as they vibrate gently, like giant harp strings plucking a melody of Autumn.

A beautifully relaxing, yet interest-filled composition - as your photographs always are.

Thank you for another stunning journey on 'The Alf Bailey Experience' :)

Alf,

I never get tired of images like this, and this is a very good example with just the right shutter speed.  So often when I attempt to photograph a falls in the wild there is all manner of debris at the base of the falls stretching out into  the foreground.  The two branches in your images act as leading lines and therefore add to the composition.

Nicely done!

Jim

Beautifully composed with nicely "timed" movement and enviable DOF.  This is a 6 or 7 in my book. This image appears to have remarkable resolution/richness.  Am I also being dazzled by the quality of the 810?

Excellent. I have read all of the comments and I can say that I am in total agreement. I will add specifically that the clarity in the foreground is outstanding. If there was a pin on the right foreground side, I would be able to detect it immediately.

Wayne mentioned the D810 but it is also the quality optics (Nikkor 24-70) attached to this camera and the photographer.

Congrats

Oh my - this is a visual treat for the senses! The Fall leaves are even more colourful as they are wet - this beautiful falls is such a find!!  I observe this image and I just feel 'at peace'. Very well composed and a truly lovely edit. The quality of light is so lovely - the sun filtering through the canopy overhead.  Impressive capture and edit Alf.  Remembering the moment you took this shot will serve you well during the cold months ahead :) Searching to find if you have posted anything new - always yields a fruitful search . Thanks so much for sharing this beautiful image of Fall in England. A Masterpiece.

We all aim perfection when it comes to photography, but I can always find something wrong with my images. If I didn't I wouldn't have anything to aim for next time :)

Sincere Thanks

I managed to avoid the ducks for one day, but was later accosted by a  Labrador and a Spaniel :)

This location is only 20 minutes away from home, and I'd forgotten just how beautiful it is.

Many Thanks!

Thank you so much for your interest and kind words!

My honest answer to your question is I don't know. But there had been a lot of rain on the previous day, so it's possible!

Thank you so much Pierre!

I was very fortunate to catch the waterfall just right, the recent rain had created a decent flow of water, whilst at the same time wetting the leaves on the ground which added a touch more colour.

Many Thanks

Sincere Thanks for your most eloquent, even poetic and most  complimentary comments!

I am hopeful that we will get some snow this winter,  and just in case we don't I am going to Scotland shortly to try and ensure I get a few shots of it!

Knowing my luck there will be a heat wave! :)

That's more like the "Alf Bailey Experience"  lol

I know just what you mean about debris, there is often old bits of trees that just look untidy. But fortunately I think nature (in the form of a torrent of water) has had a good clear out and only left a few long branches, which of course I used to my advantage! :)

Sincere Thanks Jim!

WAYNE

The resolution of the D810 cannot be denied, it does provide excellent detail.  Having said that, it doesn't allow any mistakes, no matter how slight!  Any movement at all will show as a less than sharp image.  So for this type of photo a tripod and a cable release were used. The richness of the colour is due partly to the processing, and partly to the wet leaves taking on a more rich colour.

Many Thanks for your thoughts and kind words!

Thank you so much!  You are quite right, even with a camera as good as the D810, the lens in front of it has to be up to the job too!

6 stop filter, Tripod, and Cable release, but I don't use the electronic shutter.......tried it a few times but can't see any noticeable difference.  How about you?

Best Regards

Thank you so much for your interest and very encouraging comments!

It was (as is usual for me) taken in the first hour of light after dawn. The wet leaves and autumn colour just begged to be photographed and I stayed a lot longer than I originally intended. The hours just vanished.... until I remembered all the chores that were waiting back home :)

Kind Regards

Alf, perhaps it all has 'been done before', but I'll bet not like this!  Exquisitely beautiful.  The silken flow of the water against the crunchy leaves, the tack sharpness throughout, and the diagonal running of the stream through the image.....all signs of an expert photographer.  If we ever make it over to visit you, we must visit this place!

I have visited this location before, but the last time there wasn't much water, and the colours had pretty much past their best.  It would be a great pleasure to show you around this place along with a few more if you ever get to visit.

Hi Alf, a flawless Autumn scene, the waterfall makes for a wonderful composition and I love the sense of peace that I get from this image - It doesn't matter if  Autumn is a popular subject - everyone has there own interpretation and this is just so beautifully well done!! All the best. Sarah.

Thank you so much for your most encouraging comments!

I do love the autumn, it  is my favourite time off year! And this time I was fortunate enough to get out whilst the colours where still around.

Best Regards
