He probably a tough  guy  as the pepper  he  selling. Excellent portrait  of a working man, and well processed b&w  image too.

First, I am grateful for the kind words you utilized to comment on one of my abstracts.

Secondly, I am quite taken by this image.  To get technical stuff out of the way, the tonal range is quite comprehensive.  I agree with Stephanie regarding the detail; it is sufficiently sharp so that a viewer easily take in the nuances of this man's face.

I get the feeling that time and hardship are mostly responsible for the subject's appearance.  Yet, here he is, still offering his wares to his public.  Although his eyes aren't altogether visible, they give us a clue as to his character, his resolve.  Life hasn't beaten him down to the point he's willing to surrender.  I see a cigarette smoked down to where it might burn his chin.  To me, he isn't at all worried about that.

Excellent street portrait . . .

and ratings.

@Michael: this man isn't willing to surrender to life at all :-) He is proud of his business and a very kind lad. Quite a heavy smoker too.

@Svetlana: I usually foresee my shots as far as pow, composition and color or bw choice are concerned. In this specific case, I wanted the peppers exactly where they are and a not too shallow dof. I envisioned a bw shot too. But, following your kind comment, I will post here a small untouched color version of the shot. Let me know what you think about it. Ciao, G.
