Yes I have to admit I'm a bit of a sucker for the lone tree against a skyline scene too.

I particularly like this one because it has the added attraction of the gate and fence.  I wonder if a slight tilt downwards to the left would leave it looking a bit more balanced?

Alf, thanks!  I gave your suggestion a try, but at least with my software, I then don't have the driveway entrance, which I think is part of the story. Actually, it works as an entirely different picture with that done and a square crop -- isolation.  Thanks for getting me thinking. Mike, thanks for commenting! I was back in NY / CT in May for the first time in decades - it was so overgrown compared to what I'm used to.  The South must be quite a tangle. Best, Sandy
