Wayne Sadler 567 Posted October 8, 2016 I never grew out of my childhood fascination with clouds. Even now if I can’t immediately imagine all manner of stuff in cloud formations I think something is wrong with me – I am taking the world too literally. I am sure the clouds along the outer banks are no more interesting than anywhere else, but when I am there my imagination and the clouds seem to go wild. alfbailey 3 Posted October 8, 2016 Love the BIG sky and the comparatively small boat, it serves to illustrate our insignificance in the big wide world!I know what you mean about clouds, It is the backdrop to everything we see...well almost everything. I can't say I was fascinated with them from a child, but I know I have viewed the world differently ever since I looked at it through the viewfinder of a camera, and the sky is the first thing I look at when composing landscapes. hstelljes 41 Posted October 8, 2016 Wayne, I totally do the same thing, I look for things in all kinds of formats whether it be clouds or floor tiles but I know what you mean. This is great and I see the steamship. Well done.BR, Holger Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 567 Posted October 9, 2016 Alf,Many thanks. I was on a ferry somewhere between Ocracoke and Hatteras and I felt exactly that - so small and insignificant relative to the grandeur of the sky and sound (Pamlico Sound) Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 567 Posted October 9, 2016 Holger,Thanks. When I am not seeing a things as something else, I realize I am seeing too literally and not opening myself to wonder. Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 567 Posted October 9, 2016 Chris,Thanks. I think you hit on something - POV. The clouds on the outer banks seem to float low, probably not but it seems so. It feels like I am both looking up (and at some focal points) on the same level. Link to comment

M_Lipakis 3 Posted October 11, 2016 Some tiny little black pixels down there, just to remind us how small and insignificant we are in front of the mother nature. Link to comment
krpradu 125 Posted October 12, 2016 Wayne, always clouds are a so interesting photo subject but not only,I like how this cummulus clouds look so high and in light seem to be like snowballs. Each moment of the day show this clouds in different aspects and we like this.I like too the ship that as Alf say gives a dimension to whole this scene.
