Wayne Sadler 570 Posted September 18, 2016 I asked of the African vendor the price of one of the smaller baskets. She said $50. I was unwilling to pay that much at the time though Iunderstood its value. So much time and effort to create one basket –one piece of art. An image suggesting the time and effort to producea painting with so many brush strokes seemed appropriate. Commentsand critique appreciated. Link to comment

lauramarco 0 Posted September 18, 2016 Dear Wayne, it's the first time I see this kind of baskets, they seem woven with wool, really can imagine a thousand uses for them at home. The effect of light strokes in the image is quite appealing and lovely, but also the difference in the light, the gradient from the top (dark) to down ... clearer and that beautiful light / central glow in the foreground.I think lights here are key to this image. A wonderful burst of colors!.Very beautiful image, congrats! Laura Link to comment

Wayne Sadler 570 Posted September 22, 2016 Maria,Thanks. I stared at these baskets for quite a while contemplate their intricate design and the time and effort that went into them. The challenge was how to convey this myriad of textures in an image. Link to comment
