Wow, an imposing edifice.  I can almost visualize the Sphinx in front of an upright sarcophagus.  Well done in b/w... Mike

Castle Butte in Valley of the Gods, southern Utah. Formations in this area are very

similar to nearby, and much more famous, Monument Valley. Comments and critiques

requested and always sincerely appreciated.

Super landscape, so impressive. Like the composition and detail very good. Difficult to judge the scale of these, I can only imagine they are huge and as powerful and impressive to view for real. Best regards Ken.

Hi David, The b&w tones of this image are very good. The Valley of the Gods looks impressive and I feel you've captured it well.

Amazing rock formation with wonderful shapes and textures!

There  is a nice balance to the image and I also like the dark to light gradation!

Very well done!

Best Regards

David -- Yet another fine one -- could almost have been done with large format film.  Excellent composition, tonal range and sharpness. No surprises there.  Best Sandy

Mike, Ken, Holger, Bela, Pierre, Alf, Sandy & Chris; I am very grateful for your kind words and useful comments. They are sincerely appreciated. I apologize for my tardiness in response. The day job has picked up enormously in the last few weeks. I'm going to try a new version of this with slightly lighter sky. Happy trails.

Hi David, I was going to comment on this and while logging in I see you had left some comments on my birdshot also, lol. Well, just like you I am with Mr. Mancil on this one and I like this one the most of the 3 images. The middle one is just to light for me and the last one is just too dark. This one is just right with the mysterious mood for the God, the Valley of God. TFS!

It's always fun to see what you've been chasing. I think this image deserves further consideration, particularly as my PP skills develop. For now, I think this is the one. I'm considering entries for the State Fair later this year, and this one may do. Thank you, as always, for your time and consideration. They are appreciated.
