Opinions please! I've submitted this in both color and B&W. Which do you

prefer? I thought I'd enter one of these in the adventure and action contest

Hmmm, it's a real toss-up.  Each has it's own strengths but I like the b/w best.  I don't know if it's from my recent b/w appreciation or because the dirt clods show up better.  Regardless, an excellent action shot... Mike

I concur with Mike, the B & W seems more gritty and textured. One can almost feel the earth and taste the dust! A great contender for the competition!

I like both a great deal, but I think there is better separation of the foreground in  the color version, giving it more energy.  Both work really well.

I appreciate your feedback.  In the end I decided to enter the B&W only because it got a better score from the PN folks, but only slightly.  It's all individual preference, but I was having a hard time deciding.  Thank you all!
