am amazing shot of a BIF.  The eye is tack-sharp, wings extended, and a pleasing b/g.  Bravo.

Thanks Bill! It's somewhat of a small crop, if the bird is closer it would have been a lot better in resolution.  Great afternoon light is what make the image so good.

Thanks Mr Mancil! Note that this was shot with the 1.4x extender, If the bird is closer and I shoot with the bare lens it would be better, I think. There's a couple thing going for the shot and one is the good afternoon light, the 2nd reason, I think is the f-stop at F8 . With the extender on the f-stop (500 F4) drop to F5.6 but I have a bad habit of closing down lens to get more defined images . Mr Palermiti would have scolded me, lol for not shooting wide-open but old habit dies hard.   :-)
