I think if one were observing Humans 70 years ago, Texting would

have been seen as something really 'strange'. While convenient, it

has taken how we interact with people to a whole other 'dimension'. I

almost wish it was never invented. Children as well as adults are

able to draw on their negative sides, if they wish, and the outcome

can be very damaging for the 'victim'. I recall being teased as a

youngster but if it became a problem, my Dad always helped out :).

There were only a few people who usually were witness to the

teasing. Nowadays, who knows how far-reaching it can be. It is really

quite sad. The original image was one of my grandson, crouching

down with his back to the wall of the house under our Gazebo.

appreciated :) Gail)

Wow. What a powerful image! I like it. To me it looks like someone ripping their body. I don't guess that was you intention, but that's what it suggests to me.

Boy, Gail, you sure nailed this one. This is just about how I perceive it; it's like a virus that has infected whole populations. Luckily, I'm immune, though I have contracted a strain that makes me comment a lot on photographs.

By the way, thanks for the two versions "Paper Work" you sent me. I'm terrible at responding promptly but I promise you an e-mail soon.

Dear Gail,

People say things via text and email they would perhaps never say face to face, a lesson I imparted to both of my sons early on. So your message is right on and your illustration of your grandson is creative and brilliant. I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a great New Year.

Warm Regards,

Holger

Hi Gail,

Wonderful creative image with a powerful story to boot.  I agree with you about the texting I think we would be better off without it.  Happy Holidays to you & your family!!  Take care, Patsy

I have a "dumb" phone that doesn't have texting or internet features.

This image has a very interesting angle of view and post processing!

It took a long time to me to figure out what it was represented, but by reading your comment I appreciated the work done with the touch of the artist, ciao Giangiorgio

I have texting on my phone but don't use a lot. I find it so interesting when I walk into a Dr.'s waiting room, or anywhere people are standing in line - so many with their faces buried in their phones, or talking on them. That really bothers me, who wants to listen to their conversations?? But I imagine some find it 'safer' to be on their phones, they can avoid eye contact or even simple conversation so much easier. Thank you for dropping by Kathy.

Many thanks for your critique Jack. I often wonder if 'children' will have many eye problems in the future. I think Adults will have problems much sooner than they might otherwise. It sure is a different world now. I don't know how people keep up to their 'twitter, insta gram,  Facebook, etc.' I don't work and I would never have the time. And actually I have no desire. I enjoy advances in technology when it comes to Photography, but I do not want Technology and Social Media to consume my life. Look forward to hearing from you but no big rush. Christmas will be here in a 'blink'! We have a big storm heading for the East Coast/Great Lakes. A Gulf low heading up our way on the East Coast with the remnants of an Alberta Clipper meeting it. Travel doesn't look good, but it may change. I guess in a Storm, it is comforting to have a Cell phone, especially with texting when you are worried about loved ones on the road.

No that was not my intention, but it does rather look like that. Or I guess it could resemble what an insect does when it leaves the exoskeleton behind.

It looks like this alien trying get images of own feet but little bit confused and can not find how it can be attached to his text message... Any way original and creative presentation, Gail!

Yes Richard, all your comments or at least most, I am sure, come from personal experience. An observation that makes one question the continuing effect these devices will have on humanity. I am most concerned about our young people and how this will influence the people they become in the future. Many thanks for your observations and visit. Enjoy a quiet and memorable Christmas Season. I pray you will see a 'Star' with 'Dakota's' name on it . I hope your grief experienced from his loss will lessen in the year ahead, don't forget, Dogs are very 'forgiving'. We all could learn so much from our furry friends if we just take the time to ponder their legacy.

Wishing you and your dear wife all the best in the New Year, Gail

Love your title.....it helps emphasize the madness of how we've become so attached to our devices.  Good stuff, Gail.  Although I've been gone from PN for awhile too, it's nice to have you back.  Merry Christmas and Blessings to you and your family this holiday season.

I echo Christal's sentiments in their entirety!

I like the alien skin you have created, and the appearance of multiple digits! Of course there are some benefits to texting, I no longer have to speak to the wife I can order more tea from the next room : - ) ......good job she doesn't read this! lol

Very well done Gail

Best Regards
