Beautiful b/w rendering of this iconic boat/beach scene.  The tones, lines and textures are superb... Mike

Thank you ! The local council must have put a preservation order on these old relics that are strewn along the beach in Dungeness because they attract many tourists who come for the very fresh fish and these surreal and eccentric 'objects of art'.The environment there transports you to another era.

Best regards,

DGV.

It stopped being a boat and now it became a 'time sculpture'...some artistic

soul left it there on the beach, a reminder of a bygone era..

Thank you for viewing and commenting.

Thank you my friend! You mentioned the point of view...I had to lie down flat for this shot...fortunately there wasn't any tar on the shingle..-:).

Beautiful portrait of a worn out veteran of the sea left to fend for itself. Perfect choice of black, white and especially gray for this photo. The low angle makes for a great perspective and the tight crop works marvelously here. Excellent shot!!

Thank you very much for your comment. This is the kind of picture that leads to a lot of contemplation. I went for a tight crop as I was attracted by the texture of the boat. I am uploading another shot but I chose the one above.

Warm regards.

One thing is apparent in both images immediately and this is you seem to have captured the essence of the sea, the mood and the air. I think this is mostly because of the clarity and textures which almost appear tangible.  My personal preference (although I love both images) is for the second image you posted here. It has that extra space where the rope lay, and it seems to invite me to pause there and ponder the scene in more detail.

Excellent work Dimitris!

Best Regards

Thank you very much for your extensive and meaningful critique. I agree with you but the angle from which the photo was taken shows more of the black tar on the lower right of the boat and as I wanted to emphasize the texture of the vessel I chose the one above. Keep well my friend.

Best regards.
