That's a pretty good sized catch the Osprey has latched onto!

I like that the details are good enough to see both the Osprey's eye as well as its catches eye!

Since mid-March I was able to observe quite a few Osprey on the lake here. At least 6-7 an outing and, got a couple of shots and missed a couple "I should have got" but wasn't quick enough. The last two days afield in the past week I didn't see any Osprey, it seems as though they have moved on through Oklahoma for this year.

Would have liked to have seen this one just as the Osprey was trying to get some lift out of his wings immediately after the catch. Expect he had to struggle just a bit!

Cheers & Regards always,

Jim j.

Thanks Jim!  I am lucky to get anything since I had the 1.4 TC III on and my camera for some reason won't focus.  I was standing in the mud .. aiming, aiming and all focus point won't work, switching over to 1 focus point give me a couple shot (including this one) .... I think I need a 1DX  now but I can  not (or don't want to ) cough up $6,000 for a 1DX.

Last time I brough my 1D III in they tod me I had 273,000 shot fired. It must be over the rated 300,000 actuation Canon set now. Probably why it's start ... slowing down :-)

Thanks John! Well said, I was at the creek bed (in the mud) shooting this guy and he then perch at a post to eat about half and then took off for his nest. My friend got the shot of him coming back with 1/2 the fish and his offsprings in the nest waiting. Nest is about 1/2 miles away from the creek.

Merci Beaucoup Pierre! I look forward to go in the mud after work this afternoon and hopefully get luckier and catch the bird coming off the water. I got him so far away this time and since I was greedy, I had all the focus point on to shoot him diving down. When he's in the water with all that vegetation in the background the camera (with all focus point still on) won't focus and I got a bunch of blurry shots. By the time I change over to one center focus point the bird was already airborned.   :-)

You had shoot the eagle in the most beautiful pose, the wing is elegant and powerful. Nice shot.

Cheers.
