The color is awesome, foxes are beautiful and they are not something we get to see in NJ very often. Thanks for sharing AJ.

Holger , thanks for your comments. I caught this one in my backyard this morning.  Had to shoot with no tripod and full zoom but I'm still pretty happy with the photo.  AJ

Lovely winter scene and the fox is the icing on the cake! It's bright winter coat so vivid amongst the bleakness of a winters day.

There is a brightness just below his ear near his neck, and I wonder if that is just the sun reflecting off his coat?

Compliments!

Alf, thanks for visiting and for your comments. The sun was to the right so I'm sure thats what you are seeing.   AJ

hans, thanks for your critique. I experimented around a bit with cropping and couldn't quit decide. I'll try your suggestion.  Thanks!!   AJ

Very Good (6). Love the light, composition and a background that adds to the main subject. I like that there are no foreground shrubs covering the brilliantly lit fox.  Congrats!

Tony, thanks, I had to sneak through some trees and brush to get a good view on this but it worked out well.   AJ

This has a lovely softness about it (the Fox) that makes me feel as if it is a painting. I find it great that the Fox is looking right at you with a surprised look on it's face. Red Foxes are such a treat when you discover them in the woods, especially against the snow. The last place we lived was an Adult Lifestyle Community along the Bluffs of Lake Ontario. Many foxes had Dens within the Bluffs, often you would see them jump over end of the Bluff. The first time I saw it, I thought the worst, not knowing that there Dens were readily accessible. Some of the older folks thought the Foxes were really 'cute'. Some foxes made their Dens under peoples houses, and the older folks would feed them, WRONG of course, because they are still a wild animal. One day I was standing on my Driveway, watering my flowers at the front of the house. Out of the corner of my eye, I was startled to see a Fox coming my way. Quite calmly he crossed the driveway in front of me, and made his way across the street to a neighbor's house!! Scared me! But he didn't care that I was there. We just had to make sure we did not leave our dogs out on their own. They are one of the most beautiful of natures animals I think!

Gail,  thanks for spending the time to view my photo. I was behind some brush when he spotted me. Got three shots. This was the best.     AJ
