The foreground textures here are exquisite and the rivulets form pointed fingers that seems to draw one into the image.  The remaining layers all have seperate elements of light, shape and texture that makes the image so attractive to view.  Great balance and composition and delightful B & W tones.

Compliments!

Alf and Leo, thanks for visiting.  I wish I could have stayed as the tide returned, but those rain clouds in the distance became a reality on the beach.

Water from the uplands flows under the beach sand, emerging at roughly

the 0-tide line. Sometimes when the water emerges small channels like

this form, sometimes much deeper single channels develop, and in still

other cases sheets of water emerge and flow into the intertidal area. All of

these can create interesting patterns, and that's what I was looking for as I

walked along with my camera, enjoying the solitude and even the

threatening weather. Your comments and suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Stephen, this is a very appealing image. I like those long fingers reaching out from the round boulders. they seem to be saying something about the beach. Who knows what, though . . . Regards
