Great detail sharpness and contrast. I like the light in the details in his jacket too. great post process.

There is a certain grainy quality to this image that really seems to suit the subject and the expression. The shadows and highlights are also really well communicated. An excellent portrait that I think would look brilliant printed. Any clues regarding the PP work?

The technique especially! Looks like something between drawing and high speed film! The character is special and well shown with good positioning, pose and expression!

Best regards William!

Thanks for your comments and support .

Alf . I'll try to spell out the process ( if I can remember ! )

Copied layer ( Ctl / J ) . On a new layer set to Soft light dragged a neutral / clear grad. from bottom to tone down bright areas ( zips ) . Adjusted opacity and merged . Repeated for the top of his hat . Merged and went to Image / Apply image . Merged and coppied , then applied Filter - Texturiser - Sandstone . Adjusted opacity . Merged and applied Photo filter - Warm . Extended canvas to form border . I hope this answers you , I'm not an expert but I'm always willing to help , if I can ! Bill

Very effective treatment which makes it quite original. Even without the treatment I can see that this is a very intense and strong portrait. Congrats and very fine work.

Bill,  A lot of skill is required to post process images of this quality. This portrait seems to come out very strongly with its glittery texture. The framing, the composition and the contrast add immensely to this work.  Compliments,  Best regards.
