alfbailey 2 Posted January 31, 2012 The contrasting colours and sharpness are really pleasing to view and the small tree to the right balances the image to some degree, I just wonder if it was possible to eliminate the road from the shot by panning right, leaving the church in a less central position? Lovely image!Sincere ComplimentsAlf Link to comment
natureslight 0 Posted January 31, 2012 Hi Baldur - this is a wonderful image. I like how you captured the rich colors in the clouds and how the small tree to the far right grounds the eye sending it back into the center frame of the church. Although I understand Alf's suggestion about not including the street, I'm not sure how you could accomplish this without also loosing the wonderful clouds to the left of the church. To my eye, the clouds make this image and without them, the church alone wouldn’t have the wow factor. That’s the problem with many wonderful shots, the situation is rarely perfect and to loose one unwanted element you often have to sacrifice another wanted element. Regardless, this is very nice image. Link to comment
paul_kelley1 0 Posted February 1, 2012 Lovely picture with nice colors however I am slightly put off by the centering of the church. Off center might have worked better. Link to comment
baldurbirgis 0 Posted February 1, 2012 Hi Gianluigi, Alf, Irene and Paul, thank you for your visit and kind comments.Irene has answered the other comments very well. The church is not completely in the center when you take a look at it with the lower part in the shadow. However, the climbing clouds to the left and the small tree to the right makes a pefect balance of the image in my opinion. Best regards,Baldur Link to comment
PeterKrenek 26 Posted February 1, 2012 Hi Baldur, it is good to see you posting again. I do not mind the road, it gives context to the church and I believe that it adds to balance the composition. What I find a bit distracting is the lower left corner. I suggest to clone it out (attached). The sky is indeed beautiful (can it be not beautiful in Iceland ?) Best regards. Peter Link to comment
baldurbirgis 0 Posted February 1, 2012 Hi Peter, thanks for your visit. It has been some time since I´ve been here.About the lower left corner. Because of the manipulation rules in PN, I left it as is. If publishing the image in a book, no question. There is another thing I forgot to mention in my earlier comment. The cooperation between the church tower, flag post and the lamp post is good and in opposite direction with the climbing clouds. The sky in Iceland is very often beautiful.Best regards,B - )) Link to comment
