I did this one when I saw the contrast between fresh snow and strong

rock color,lot of yellow clay there.

Is it very cold where you live?? (a dry or damp cold)?? It does make a difference. Just curious.

In last time weather wasn't so as usual(rains in November two weeks or more and after this snow just to April,in January -10/-15*C),last year was dry from August and just in December at the end we had some snow,in last two weeks it snow 50cm or more in some part but humidity is almost 100% and cloudy time from few weeks,so I can't say that in this moment is like before in my childhood,all is changed and not in a good way,not only nature but also humanity.Thank you Gail for your attention,my best thoughts to you.

Yes, that color really catches the eye, as does the red in the foreground shrubs.  And the trail and snow-covered trees are very nice elements.  Put them all together and you get a very pleasing landscape.

A very impressive image, I really like the curtain of textures that the snow laden pines provide, and the contrasting warm colours of the roadside rocks. Beautifully done!
