Every morning, it's the same quest: find the birds. Every evening, it's the

same dilemma: where will the birds be landing? The photo was taken

because of the beauty and tranquility of the place, as well as experiencing

a small portion of the natural cycle of this species. Comments and

suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

Suffice to say this was another shot that made me stop in my tracks whilst scrolling through the thumb nails in "critique  forum"  You must be very pleased with this, I know I would be.  I love everything about it.......I don't have too many favourites, but this has got to be one of them.

Excellent.

Regards

Alf

Thanks, Alf.  I like to spend evenings at this pond, and on this night the light was just excellent.  I was there again tonight, but the light was not nearly as good, and I made a huge mental error and shot at f/11 (sacrificing much needed speed); most of the flying crane shots had to be discarded.  This was my last night at this place; time to go to somewhere else in New Mexico.

Beauty so impeccable and untouchable...  the ephemeral silhouettes, perfect rings of color on the water with purple dripping from the crane's beak... - simply phenomenal imo

Thanks for the comment, Valentina.  This was taken just a short time ago, and I'm still on the road visiting other places.  It's nice to have a laptop to process and post photos while on the go.

I was there several times between November and January this year.  I tried to get some pictures like this.  But not.  This one is a perfect sample for me to learn.  Thanks.

Wanghan, I think the most difficult part is knowing where to be.  For the cranes, I found the "Flight Deck" to be the best place.  There weren't nearly as many cranes there (and no snow geese), but the few that were there were close, and the light was good.  However, birds like to move around, and what may be a good spot one week may be empty the next.

The water ripples and the random placement of the cranes with graduated focus really give this an artistic flair.  The lighting is spectacular as well.  It's nice to know about this place.....New Mexico is one place I haven't spent a lot of time in.

Yessss, it  is golden. Very nice image, specially, with the foreground bird created  those circular waves. Excellent.

I just came back from Bosque, and I love this one since I know it is very difficult to get one like this.  Nice color and sharp image.  Well composed as well.  Best Regards,
