I find this image very disturbing Birte...but that only shows how excellent you have portrayed it. His face is one that would 'haunt'  in the worst part of dreams.  His facial scars, the thoughts that must be behind his disturbing expression. I don't know if I could live with knowing what this child has endured.  Your excellent skills have rendered a most unsettling image. Well done Birte.  The 'tradegy' that is this child's life is more than evident in your portrait.

Such a strong and powerful work. No wonder it will be the face of a book. Always love your work..

Book cover - million seller....chapeau!

This is one haunting portrait!! Considering the title, it conjurs up in my mind a phrase to describe this as no other could. The miserable have no other medicine, but only hope. (W. Shakespeare, Measure For Measure). One wonders if there is still any hope left in that face.  Only the great photos stir emotions in their viewers. You have surpassed that!!
