richard_selby 0 Posted March 6, 2010 I had two Red Tailed hawks growing up. This is an instinctive behavior to mantle their kill as shown above. When their in tall dry grass it also serves as camouflage, I've literally walked passed my bird when she was on the ground. Excellent shot! Link to comment
