Miner's River

WJT

Exposure was 1/60th second at f22. Gitzo 1325/Acratech ball head. Adjusted in Ektaspace using Photoshop CS. I think this looks best in LARGER VIEW, if you have the time.

Beautifull composition here once again!, I love sand shapes to the right and overall scene, very very good!

Very nice composition, good exposure, you got detail in the trees and still a well exposed sky. Not much else to ask for!

Walter very good exposure. Wonderful colors and it looks like you had some luck with the weather. I spent some time on the same beach this past weekend.

Ohh, now I'm drooling for a UP trip, which isn't going to happen this year, being 8 months pregnant and building a new house...how easy is this beach to access? I have been to MC many times, but never to Miner's Beach. Would love to get some of the shoreline here and the sandstone formations. Fantastic reflection in the water and details in the sky. Nicely done!

I like this picture. I was attracted mainly by the colours and watching it i fall in love with the perfect framing of the picture.

Great place and great photographer.

Congrats - Fabio -

ABSOLUTELY SUPERB use of lines and reflectivity -- one of the best, if not THE BEST -- reflection shot I've ever seen around here (and given my obsession i've seen a lot around here). because of your use of the the land lines, it really stands in a category by itself. wow walter, really hit a home run here. my one suggestion is to consider on the land and tree areas taking out a little of the blue -- sometimes i find it helps to take out the blue that is reflected from the sky in such areas on some of my flower shots -- i typically use color balance to tweak, adding about 4-10% yellow and a similar amount of red.

Great to see another photo from this spot. The reflection draws me from the lower left to the curve in the sand. The curve then toward the mouth of the creek. I see the water level is up since last fall and there is beach near the opening to the lake. What's great about this photo is it gives a sense of place because it includes a lot of the elements you see when standing there. I think you deserve extra credit for there is a high level of difficulty in making a solid composition at this location.

Jen--a little hike, but relatively easy access to this beach. Just don't hike down there from Miner's Castle, which is quite an elevation change.

Walter, I walked this beach and the trail behind this position, running along the river yesterday. You had all the elements working together for you on that morning and captured a fine moment. Sean

I think the composition is very strong here. The sky is really good too. I would think the light on the ground objects is somewhat away from ideal.

Walter, I love the way the river has carved out the beach, nice lines, and good exposure. I miss your comments on my work, seems you haven't been around for awhile with you thoughts. Cheers, Sondra
