Wayne Sadler 592 Posted September 4, 2022 Home to the highest concentration of Chinese people in the Western Hemisphere, Manhattan’s Chinatown in NYC is the next best thing to being in China. As other Western visitors to Chinatown probably have noticed, you do not feel you are intruding. You feel you don’t exist. Perfect place for a shy photographer like me to people watch. Once upon a time this was considered the most dangerous ghetto area of immigrant New York. Now, judging from the demeanor of the people around the statue of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the first leader of the Nationalist Party of China, it appears one of the most peaceable places to be in NYC any day of the week. michaellinder 16,613 Posted September 4, 2022 Wayne, one sad fact . . . NYC Chinatown is rapidly engulfing Little Italy. Nonetheless my last visit to Chinatown yielded a wonderful meal at a dim sum restaurant - The Nom Wah Teahouse. So, first and foremost, thanks for bringing back that memory. Personally, if I could, I'd trash Sun Yet-Sen in favor of Lao Tzu. In any case, the image reveals a paradigm case of energy. - - My best always, michael Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 592 Posted September 7, 2022 Thanks, Michael. I've had good dining experiences in Chinatown and Little Italy but my camera seems to prefer Chinatown. Link to comment
